blog journal #1 posting

To be honest I do not think that computers are an important part of the educational experience, especially when pertaining to first graders. Teachers and students should only use computers for educational reasons to do research, or write a paper, or power point and possibly you tube if there is an educational clip of something important. Other than that there really is no reason for computer use in class. Although I must admit that I do agree with one issue in the book is that computer literacy is critical because even if you don't use it you will need to use it at some point in your life especially in future generations. And I also agree that you should be able to do or fix simple problems with your computer as well.
I hope to only use a computer in my class to hold my grades and maybe for power point slides. In this class I hope to learn how to use some programs that I am not familiar with.
I hope I don't have to teach my first graders computers nor have to incorporate computers with everything I do in class. This course is harder than it needs to be by showing us all of the shortcuts and tricks that you can use on certain programs. It takes something simple and makes it really hard and makes it difficult to comprehend.

  1. I definitely agree with you when you state that computers are important for the future! We must know how to operate and understand a computer for future career prospects. Most jobs use multiple technology resources and they require you to have an understanding of how they operate. This world is expanding so quickly and everyday resources are being updated and added.
